Turin, Italy by Train. Sunday 2nd – Saturday 8th May 2021.

Travel by first class train from London/ Ashford to Turin.  Includes on our first day a walking tour guided tour to get your bearings around the town by a local guide.

Turin’s origins date back to the Roman times and even before

On our first day, on a private tour you will discover the grand history and the different phases of the city through its main landmarks in the historical centre with this enjoyable and easy walk with a lovely coffee break.    The city’s golden age starts in the 17th century with the Savoy family moving the capital of their duchy from Chambery, France, to Turin, and transforming it in one refined European city with magnificent palaces and squares.
Eventually, after starting small as a military settlement in Roman times, Turin became the first capital of Italy in 1861 and was home to the first Parliament of the country.

Our Hotel Starhotels Majestic is just 200 yards from Turin’s Porta Nuova Station. It offers a restaurant with a stained-glass roof, a 24-hour gym, and modern rooms with a satellite TV and pillow menus.   WiFi is free throughout. The rooms at the Majestic come with air conditioning and a minibar.

An American buffet breakfast is provided daily at the hotel. Le Regine Restaurant by Eataly serves both Piedmont and international cuisine, and Il Circolo bar serves snacks and evening aperitifs.  Piazza Castello and the Royal Palace are a 15-minute walk from the hotel. The fashionable shopping street of Via Garibaldi is a 5-minute tram ride away.
