The Maunsell naval forts were built in the Thames estuary Operated by the Royal Navy, to deter and report German air raids following the Thames as a landmark, and prevent attempts to lay mines by aircraft in this important shipping channel. Named after their designer Guy Maunsell. The forts were decommissioned in the late 1950s and later used for other activities including pirate radio broadcasting. The towers lie within the Thames Estuary, 9 miles from Southend and 6 miles from Whitstable.
Minibus leaves Faversham 4.00pm. We drive to Queenborough, Board our boat to take us to the forts.
Cruise departs 5.00pm and takes 3 hrs. Return back to Faversham apprx 8.45pm.

Please note. The forts are extremely exposed. It is possible the cruise maybe cancelled due to bad weather. If that’s the case an alternative date will be organised or a Full refund will be returned.
